Ms. Cooper will appear in concert as a soloist with the Maryland Lyric Opera Orchestra in the company’s Institute Gala, which features excerpts from several operas. She will sing Marzelinne in Beethoven’s Fidelo, Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Frasquita in Bizet’s “Chanson Boheme” from Carmen, and Sophie in Strauss’s Rosenkavalier trio.

About the Concert

The MDLO Young Artist Institute Fall concert stars six rising young talents from the MDLO Young Artist Institute, supported by the full MDLO Orchestra on stage. Music Director Louis Salemno conducts the evening. This concert features excerpts from six operas in three different languages: Beethoven's Fidelio, Gounod's Faust, Verdi's Falstaff, Donizetti's Don Pasquale, Bizet's Carmen, and Strauss's Der Rosenkavlier. Young Artists include sopranos Alexandra Razskazoff and Sarah Joyce Cooper; mezzo-soprano Olga Syniakova; tenors Yi Li, Joseph Michael Brent, and Mauricio Miranda; baritone Christian Bowers; and bass Michael Pitocchi.
